Sprite Splitter

Split sprite sheets into clean tiles—fast.

Auto-frame dozens or hundreds of sprites from one sheet, then export locally in about two minutes. Made by an indie game developer — for indie developers and artists who need clean tiles without fighting a heavy image editor.

No account. No cloud. Art stays on your Mac. · How to get the product

Auto Frame

Click the background once to box many sprites at once—ideal for clear sheets on transparent or solid fills.

Grid & Freehand

Regular tilesets with margin and spacing, or freehand boxes when the layout is irregular.

Magic Wand

Select and clear backgrounds to transparency when auto-frame needs a cleaner pass.

Export for your pipeline

Batch-export PNG, JPG, or BMP tiles with names you control — or Atlas + JSON with a frame table for your pipeline. Details in Support.

Works best when sprites are clearly separated. Sticky or complex art: use Freehand or Wand.

Why it exists

Open texture communities are full of useful atlases. The hard part is getting sprites out quickly — full image editors are powerful, but heavy if you only need to cut tiles for a game. Sprite Splitter is that lighter step: open a sheet, frame what you need, export on your Mac.
